Overview
Photo-anodising develops the image inside the porous oxide layer of the aluminium and then seals it. The result is a plate whose marking cannot be scratched, solvent-wiped or sun-bleached away, because there is nothing sitting on the surface to remove. It is the standard answer for rating plates and serial numbers that must stay readable for the working life of a machine.
